Karin Rensfelt, MMFT, CCC
Karin moved to Port Alberni, BC in August 2016. Previously, she had a private practice in Happy Valley-Goose Bay in Labrador. Before that, Karin worked for many years in Winnipeg and the surrounding areas. Karin has a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy as well as a Bachelor of Arts in psychology both from the University of Winnipeg. She is a member of the professional organizations Canadian Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (CAMFT), BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), and she is a Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
Karin has experience working with young children to adults in different life stages and clients from a variety of diverse backgrounds. Her work is influenced by Attachment Theory, Mindfulness and Emotionally Focused Therapy. Karin believes that people want secure and meaningful connections with others. She also believes that helping people to slow down and be in the present moment can affect how people handle difficult situations. She will work with you with compassion, at your pace and in your own way to help you move in a new direction.
